October 9-14, 2017 in Venice.

Goodness!  We have been so busy in Tuscany we have not been able to keep this blog updated!

Venice is a city of living history.  Generations and generations of people have walked exactly where we have walked. It is a humbling experience to be in these buildings and explore the city.

Here are some pictures of our stay in this wonderful city.  Click on a pic to make it bigger.

We even located a park with green open space!

In Murano, we had grilled octopus and squid with ink with pasta.

The ink is real.  Eric said that it looked like a Klingon dish from Star Trek but tasted fantastic.  The squid was in a garlic & olive oil sauce with grated parmesan cheese.

How do you get ink out of a soiled napkin? Or teeth?

Murano is known for its glass works.  This sculpture was in one of the piazzas.

Our last full day was foggy but was still wonderfull.

We explored a new area and found a bar with good cheap wine and great chiquetti/finger food for lunch.  It was run by women. The bathroom was clean (very important!) and the bar was a very fun social atmosphere. There was a university graduation party going on outside and they were drinking spritz by the pitcher!  What fun they were having!

For our last dinner in Venice we had pasta carbonara and spaghetti with clams.  It was so fresh and good!

On to Tuscany...
